We all have our favorite film directors, Scorcese, Coppola, Spielberg etc, and none of them would take the same story and create identical films. The same is true of the ‘wedding video’. There are several ways to capture the event, and we have an approach that is unique among our industry. Rather than create a third person account of the event, or a security camera view into the day, our approach is to capture the entirety of the wedding; to reveal characters and their motivation, to tell a story that has a beginning, a climax, and a happy ending.

It takes a lot more to tell that story than just bringing a camera to shoot a few hours of the ceremony . Where do we start? It starts with developing the characters - the bride and groom. The first step is the ‘engagement interview’. Like any good documentary, we sit down with the main characters and delve into the who, what, where, when and why - to uncover the intimate details of what your wedding is about. When did you first fall in love? What was it that made you first notice your fiance? What makes you perfect for each other? Why get married on the Outer Banks?

All these details are important items that help us to tell the story of your wedding. Once the day of the wedding arrives, we’ll start filming well before the ceremony begins, capturing the build-up to the wedding, staging the ceremony and reception, the pre-wedding jitters and all the pomp and circumstance that surrounds the big day.  Because we’ve already interviewed you and know a great deal about your wedding, we’ll be sure to capture all the important moments and highlight all the details you’ve spent so much time developing. Our crew will interview bridesmaids and groomsmen, guests, friends and family, to help capture the emotion and narrate the story.

The finished product that we deliver will tell the complete story of your wedding, from beginning to happily ever after. And for those friends that might groan at the thought of sitting through a hour long wedding video - we include a 4-5 minute highlight video (of course, after watching it, they’ll want to see the entire movie). Our typical wedding film includes the engagement interview, the highlight reel, the entire ceremony, highlights of the reception and guest interviews. Every film is unique, and we’ll collaborate with you on the look of the graphics (we’ll match the color palette to your wedding colors), the music, and key scenes and include 3 DVD copies, with custom printed DVD and DVD jackets.

So, why does it matter if your wedding video is shot in high-definition with the look of film? The same reason big-budget movies are shot in film - it just plain looks better. Film has that classic look that transcends time - and hopefully, when you watch your movie in 20 years, it will look timeless and classic, and not like it was shot on 20 year old technology.
